# See Who Links to Your Site

> Count the links pointing at your site, see which sites they come from, and tell good links from spam

Links from other websites to yours are one of the main things search engines weigh: a link from a trusted site tells them yours is worth showing. **Backlinks** counts the links pointing at your site and lists the sites they come from.

This guide checks who links to northwindroasters.com.

## Count your links

**1. Open Backlinks**

Click **Marketing** in the left rail, then **SEO**, then **Tools**, then **Backlinks**. Click **View Profile** on **Backlinks Overview**.

**2. Type your address and analyze**

Type your site's address, such as northwindroasters.com, and click **Analyze Profile**. The figures appear in a few seconds.

33 links from 31 sites

* **Backlinks**: how many links point at your site.
* **Linking Sites**: how many different sites they come from. Many sites count for more than many links from a few.
* **Broken Backlinks**: links to pages of yours that don't load. Bring the page back, or [send its old address to a page that works](https://docs.hiveku.com/how-tos/websites/redirect-an-old-address.md).

Further down, **Authority Score** rates from 0 to 100 how strongly the web links to your site. Small and new sites often score low.

## See which sites link to you

Click **Referring Domains** at the top, type your address again and click **Analyze Domains**. Each linking site is listed with how many links it gives and when it was first seen.

![Referring Domains: thcradar.com, dbike-us.com, techbumppy.com, bureatag.com, archive-hu.com and seonix.agency, each with Domain Rating 0, one or two backlinks, and a Spam Score of 60% or 70%, outlined](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/BTaQXWYYtSea2M7T/images/how-tos/marketing/bl-02-linking-sites-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=BTaQXWYYtSea2M7T\&q=85\&s=4624f98f54079df671c140feef97d709)

The sites linking to Northwind

**Spam Score** says how likely a site is to be spam. Northwind's list is mostly spam sites with scores of 60% or more, which is common for a new address: automated sites link to new domains on their own. They don't help, and search engines usually ignore them. Links worth having come from real sites in your world, such as a local news story, a café guide or a supplier's page.

## Good to know

* **Links gained and lost** in the last 30 days are in **New & Lost**.
* **The words other sites use** to link to you are in **Anchor Text**.
* **Check a competitor**: type their address instead to see who links to them, and ask the same sites to link to you.
* **The two counts can differ by a few**: Referring Domains lists sites from its own lookup.
