# Add Many CMS Entries at Once from a Spreadsheet

> Fill a CMS collection from a spreadsheet: match each column to a field, check the preview, and import the rows as drafts or published entries

Typing entries one by one is slow when you already have them in a spreadsheet: a product list, a team list, a schedule. Save the sheet as a CSV file and import it into a collection in one go.

This guide adds three upcoming roasts to the Roast Schedule on Northwind's Pearl District site.

## Get the file ready

In your spreadsheet, put one entry per row and one field per column, with a header row on top. Dates work best as year-month-day, like 2026-11-03. Save or download it as **CSV**. Northwind's has two columns, **Coffee** and **Roast day**.

## Import it

**1. Open Import**

In the builder, click the **CMS** icon above the preview and pick the collection under **Collections**. Click **···** at the top right, then **Import**.

**2. Pick your file**

Leave **CSV** chosen and click **Click to pick a CSV file**.

**3. Match the columns and check the preview**

Under **Column mapping**, pick the field each column goes into. A column headed exactly like a name in that list, such as title, is matched for you; a column set to **(ignore)** is left out. The **Preview** shows each entry as it will be made.

Under **Entries without their own status**, choose **Import as drafts** to check them before they go on your site, or **Import as published** to have them go live with your next publish. Click **Import**.

**4. Read the results**

The results say how many entries were made, and list each one.

3 created

Click **Done**. The new entries are in the collection's list.

## Good to know

* **Publish them together.** Tick the entries in the list and click **Publish** in the bar that appears, then [publish your changes](https://docs.hiveku.com/how-tos/site-builder/publish.md).
* **Importing again?** Entries already in the collection with the same web address are skipped. Tick **Overwrite existing entries** to update them from the file instead.
* **Wrong import?** Tick the entries and click **Delete** in the same bar.
* **More detail** on columns, references and JSON files: see [Bulk import](https://docs.hiveku.com/cms/bulk-import.md).
