# Move Your Blog Posts or Testimonials into the CMS

> Ask the builder AI to move content that is written into your site's code, such as posts, testimonials or opening hours, into the CMS so anyone can edit it

Some content on a site is written straight into its code: a list of testimonials, the blog posts of an imported site, your opening hours. Changing it means asking for a code change each time. Moving it into the CMS turns each item into an entry anyone on your team can edit, and the page keeps looking the same.

This guide moves the opening hours on Northwind's Pearl District site into the CMS. It does the change on a branch first, then merges it.

## Ask the builder AI

**1. Start a branch**

A move touches the page's code, so try it on a branch: at the top of the chat, click **Your site**, then **New branch**, and give it a name such as hours-in-cms. See [Try a Change on a Branch First](/how-tos/site-builder/try-on-a-branch.md).

**2. Say what to move**

Name the section, what the new collection should be called, what one entry is, and that the page should look the same.

![The chat message: Move the opening hours in the Visit section into the CMS, as a collection called Opening Hours with one entry per row (days and times), so we can change our hours without code. Keep the section looking exactly the same. The request

**3. Read what it did**

The AI makes the collection, copies each item into it as an entry, and changes the page to read the entries. Northwind's took about ten minutes.

![Done. I created the Opening Hours collection with the two existing published rows and connected the Visit section, and its local-business schema, to those entries. The layout and displayed times remain unchanged. Outlined](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR/images/how-tos/site-builder/mc-02-done-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR\&q=85\&s=57c569a4d7066691b46af302d3887cc1)

The AI's answer

The new collection and its entries are saved on **Your site** straight away; the page change waits on the branch.

**4. Merge the branch**

Open the branch menu, click **Ask for a review**, then **Merge** in the review. The page now reads the hours from the CMS.

## Check the result

Click the **CMS** icon above the preview. The new collection is listed with one entry per item.

![Collections: Blog Posts, Café Menu, Roast Schedule and Opening Hours with 2 entries, outlined; the entries saturday-and-sunday and monday-to-friday, both Published, outlined](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR/images/how-tos/site-builder/mc-03-collection-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR\&q=85\&s=3524fc0435702742eee7d025f6151ead)

The Opening Hours collection

Click an entry to see its details.

![The entry saturday-and-sunday: Days Saturday and Sunday, Opens at 08:00, Closes at 16:00, Display order 2, outlined; Status Published](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR/images/how-tos/site-builder/mc-04-entry-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR\&q=85\&s=208ccb266aef246ad259171ea760e9fa)

One entry

The page looks just as before, but the hours now come from those entries.

![Come by, Your Pearl District coffee stop, with Monday to Friday 7 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 4 pm, outlined](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR/images/how-tos/site-builder/mc-05-preview-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=Hhziy1u2X4w3nOYR\&q=85\&s=1c19bff407851ff508f1badb012c9b3e)

The Visit section, reading from the CMS

From now on, change the hours in the CMS and [publish your changes](/how-tos/site-builder/publish.md).

## Good to know

* **Works for any repeating content.** The same request moves blog posts, testimonials, team members, products or locations: name the section and what one entry is.
* **Long articles** are better kept as **MDX** entries, with formatted text. Say so in your request.
* **Editing the entries:** see [Edit Your Content in the CMS](/how-tos/site-builder/edit-cms-content.md).
