# Schedule Social Media Posts

> Plan, publish, and track posts across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and Google Business Profile from one calendar

Hiveku's social media tools let you compose once, tailor per platform, schedule, approve, and track posts without leaving your project — publishing directly to each platform.

<Info>
  Supported platforms: **Facebook Pages, Instagram Business, LinkedIn (profiles and company pages), X (Twitter), TikTok, and Google Business Profile.** Connect them first — see [Connect Social Accounts](/how-tos/connect-social-accounts).
</Info>

## Create and Schedule a Post

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Content Calendar">
    Go to **Marketing > Social > Calendar**. Switch between **month**, **week**, and **day** views in the top right.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a date and time">
    Click any slot on the calendar, or click **New Post** in the top bar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write the post">
    Fill in:

    * **Content** — the post body (with a live character count)
    * **Accounts** — which connected profiles, pages, or locations to publish to
    * **Media** — attach images or video from your media library
    * **Publish time** — publish now, or schedule for later
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tailor per platform (optional)">
    One post can read differently per platform. Use the platform customizer to give X a punchier 280-character version while LinkedIn gets the long form — each connected platform can override the base content.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Schedule**. Hiveku's publisher checks every minute and posts automatically at the time you set.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Drag a scheduled post to a new slot in the calendar to reschedule it. Hold Shift while dragging to duplicate.
</Tip>

## Platform Behaviors Worth Knowing

* **Instagram requires media** — an image (JPEG) or video on every post; up to 10 images publish as a carousel.
* **X (Twitter) is a Premium-plan feature** — X posting is available on the Premium plan and capped at 60 posts per month (X's API bills per post). X also enforces a 280-character limit; add an X override with a shorter version for longer base posts.
* **TikTok publishes as a draft to your TikTok inbox** — you get a notification in the TikTok app, tap it, pick the audience, add the caption, and post. The Hiveku post shows **Publishing** until you finalize it.
* **Google Business posts** take one photo and an optional link button; leave phone numbers out of the text or Google rejects the post.
* **Facebook link posts** render a preview from your post's link automatically.

## AI Drafting

Your marketing agent drafts social posts in your brand voice — ask it in chat (e.g., "draft a week of posts about the spring promotion across LinkedIn and Facebook"). The agent creates the posts as drafts or scheduled entries; **publishing always waits for your explicit approval** — the agent shows an approval card and nothing goes live until you click Approve.

Tag posts with [Content Pillars](/how-tos/content-pillars) so the agent stays on your recurring themes.

## Approval Workflows (Optional)

If you want a second set of eyes before posts go live, turn on approvals.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enable approvals">
    In **Marketing > Social > Settings**, toggle **Require approval before publishing**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit for review">
    When a post is ready, click **Submit for Approval** instead of **Schedule**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reviewer approves or rejects">
    Teammates with the right role see pending posts in their inbox, leave comments, and approve or reject.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Content Pillars

Keep your posting on-brand by defining recurring themes.

Go to **Marketing > Social > Pillars** and add pillars like *Customer Stories*, *Product Updates*, or *Industry Insights*. When composing a post, tag it with a pillar — the analytics view breaks down performance per pillar so you can double down on what works.

## Analytics

Go to **Marketing > Social > Analytics** to see engagement, reach, follower growth, and per-post breakdowns for your connected accounts.

* Platform APIs lag — give metrics up to 24 hours to appear.
* Google Business Profile provides **profile-level** metrics only (views, website clicks, calls); Google discontinued per-post statistics.
* TikTok metrics appear once a draft has been finalized and the video is public.

## When a Post Fails

You'll know: Hiveku sends the post's author an in-app notification (and email, subject to your notification settings) with the reason. The post shows **Failed** in the calendar with the platform's error message on each target account.

Common causes and fixes:

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Connection expired or revoked">
    The account shows a red status under **Marketing > Social > Accounts**. Reconnect it (same popup flow — history is preserved), then reschedule the post.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Instagram rejected the media">
    Instagram accepts JPEG images only, and every IG post needs media. Convert PNGs to JPEG or attach a video.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="X post over 280 characters">
    Add a per-platform override with a shorter X version, or trim the base content.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="X post blocked or failed">
    X posting is a Premium-plan feature capped at 60 posts per month — if you've hit the monthly cap it resets at the start of next month. If you connected your own X app (BYOK) instead of using Hiveku's, a payment error means that app ran out of prepaid API credits — top up in the X developer console.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Google rejected the post">
    Google Posts are auto-rejected for phone numbers in the text and some promotional phrasing. Edit the content and retry.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="TikTok post stuck on Publishing">
    TikTok drafts wait for you: open the TikTok app, find the inbox notification, and finalize the post. TikTok allows at most 5 pending drafts per 24 hours.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Wrong account was selected">
    Open the post, change the target account in the **Accounts** field, and save. As long as it's still scheduled, the update takes effect before publish time.
  </Accordion>
