# Stop Spam from Your Website Forms

> Add an invisible robot check to every form on your site, choose how strict it is, and check the Spam folder

Bots fill in website forms with junk. Hiveku already files the obvious junk away from your inbox. Form spam protection adds an invisible robot check to every form on your site, so far less gets through. Visitors don't see a puzzle or a tick box.

This guide sets it up on Northwind's Pearl District site.

## Open the site's hosting settings

Open the website, click its name at the top of the page, then **Hosting**. Click **Production** in the row of environments: Production is your live site, and Development and Staging have their own switch.

Scroll to **Hiveku Integrations** and find the **Form spam protection** card.

## Turn it on and choose how strict it is

Click the switch. A message confirms it, and the card shows three levels:

* **Lenient** files only submissions that are certainly spam.
* **Balanced** is recommended for most forms.
* **Strict** files borderline submissions too.

![The Form spam protection card switched on: Lenient, Balanced (recommended for most forms) picked and outlined, Strict; Nothing is ever deleted; Active, forms are scored on submit](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/63w_2EEph6Ht0Q1F/images/how-tos/websites/sp-02-on-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=63w_2EEph6Ht0Q1F\&q=85\&s=469a4b96748630621a19cfe37f400e6b)

Northwind kept **Balanced**. The level is one setting for the whole site and applies to new submissions right away.

## Deploy to apply it

The robot check reaches your live site the next time you deploy. Click **Deploy** at the top right and deploy to Production, as in [Publish Your Changes](/how-tos/site-builder/publish).

Northwind's Pearl District site isn't published, so it switched the protection back off after this guide.

## Check the Spam folder

Spam is filed, never deleted. Click the site's name, then **Forms**, and click **Spam** above the list of submissions. Northwind's main site has nothing filed as spam.

![Submissions with Spam (0) outlined beside Inbox, a Search spam box, and a note: Hiveku files a submission here when it looks automated or like junk; Not spam moves it to your inbox and delivers it like any new lead. Below, No spam, nothing was filed as spam in the last 365 days](https://mintcdn.com/locusdigital/63w_2EEph6Ht0Q1F/images/how-tos/websites/sp-03-spam-folder-closeup.webp?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=63w_2EEph6Ht0Q1F\&q=85\&s=1cdba594454150cb3200331d9ce8a51b)

A filed submission doesn't send you a new-lead email, add a contact to your CRM or start a workflow. If a real one lands there, click **Not spam**: it moves to your inbox and, within a few minutes, is delivered like any new lead.

## Good to know

* **Getting real inquiries in Spam?** Switch to **Lenient**. Still getting junk? Try **Strict**.
* **Development and Staging** have their own switch on their own tabs, so you can try it there first.
