# Commissions & Tiers

> How partner commission is calculated, the tier ladder, and how it accrues.

You earn a percentage of the **total Hiveku revenue** — plan fee **and** usage —
from every account you refer, every month, for as long as that account stays
active. Your rate increases with the number of active referred accounts.

## Tier ladder

| Tier    | Active referred accounts | Commission rate |
| ------- | ------------------------ | --------------- |
| Partner | 1–9                      | 10%             |
| Silver  | 10–24                    | 15%             |
| Gold    | 25+                      | 20%             |

Your tier is evaluated automatically from your **active referred accounts** — an
account counts once it's active and past its 7-day trial (i.e. a paying customer).
Trials don't count toward your tier until they convert.

## What commission is based on

* **Base:** the referred account's pre-tax invoice subtotal — its plan fee plus
  all usage (AI, voice, bandwidth, email, etc.). It's net of any discount that
  account received, so you earn on what Hiveku actually collects.
* **Duration:** recurring for the life of the account. There's no 12-month cap.
* **Rate:** your tier rate at the time each invoice is accrued.

## How it accrues

Each time a referred account **pays an invoice**, a commission entry is written to
your ledger: `base × your rate`. Accrual runs daily and is idempotent — one entry
per invoice, no double-counting. Both the plan-fee invoice and the usage invoice
generate commission, so plan and usage are both captured.

## Earnings & payouts

The Partner Console shows your **earned (last 30 days)** and **earned (lifetime)**
totals from the ledger. Hiveku reconciles and pays out accrued commission on a
monthly cadence — reach out to your Hiveku contact for payout details.

  Commission only accrues while your account is an active Partner. If Partner status
  is removed, existing links stay for history but new accrual stops.
