# Team Members

> Invite and manage your team

Invite collaborators to your Hiveku workspace and control what they can access.

## Roles

Hiveku ships nine default roles, and admins can build custom roles with exactly the access a person needs. The most common defaults:

| Role                     | Access                                                             |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Owner** | Full access, including billing and transferring ownership. |
| **Admin** | Full access except transferring ownership. |
| **Manager** | Runs all operational departments. No billing or security settings. |
| **Finance / Accountant** | Owns Accounting (AP/AR, payroll, reports); reads CRM. |
| **Sales** | Owns CRM and the pipeline; can quote and invoice. |
| **Marketing** | Owns Marketing; reads CRM. |
| **Support** | Owns Helpdesk and customer communications. |
| **Member** | General editor across enabled departments. |
| **Viewer**               | Read-only across enabled departments.                              |

See the full capability matrix and how to build custom roles in the [Permissions reference](/settings/permissions).

## Inviting team members

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open team settings">
    Go to **Settings > Team** from the workspace dashboard.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter email and role">
    Type the invitee's email address and select a role from the dropdown (any default role except Owner, plus your custom roles).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send invitation">
    Click **Invite**. The invitee receives an email with a link to join your workspace, and they'll get the role you chose when they accept.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Pending invitations

Invitations that haven't been accepted yet appear in the **Pending** section. You can:

* **Copy link** -- share the invitation link directly
* **Resend** -- send the invitation email again
* **Cancel** -- revoke the invitation before it's accepted

## Access scope

What a member can see and do is controlled by their **role**. Roles gate access at the department level — Accounting, CRM, Marketing, Helpdesk, Communications, and so on — and by capability (view, create, edit, delete, manage) within each. A member only sees the departments their role grants, on top of what the account's plan includes.

<Info>
  For example, a Finance role sees Accounting and a read-only CRM, but never Marketing. Build roles that match how your team actually works in the [Permissions reference](/settings/permissions).
</Info>

## Changing roles

From the three-dot menu next to a team member, choose **Change Role** and select a new role (default or custom) from the dropdown. The change takes effect within a few minutes.

## Removing members

Click the **Remove** button next to a team member's name. They lose access to the workspace and all its projects immediately. Their past contributions (commits, deployments, etc.) remain in the history.

## Resetting passwords

Team members manage their own passwords through the account settings page. As an Owner or Admin, you cannot reset another member's password, but you can remove and re-invite them if needed.

## Activity log

The activity log in **Settings > Team > Activity** shows recent actions taken by team members, including logins, project changes, deployments, and team management events.
