A sign-up form on your site turns visitors into people you can email. With Hiveku, each sign-up is saved as a form submission and a contact, and when the visitor ticks the box to get your emails, Hiveku records that consent. This guide adds a “Get roast news” sign-up to Northwind’s Pearl District site and signs up once as a test visitor.

Ask the builder AI for the form

Open the website in the builder and tell the AI what you want in the chat: where the form goes, its heading, an email field, a box for consent to your emails (unticked, so visitors choose), and a button. Ask for each sign-up to be saved in Hiveku so it becomes a contact.
The chat message: Add a newsletter sign-up to the bottom of the home page, just above the footer: a heading Get roast news, an email field, an unticked box Email me roast news and offers, and a Sign up button. Save each sign-up as a form submission in Hiveku so it becomes a contact. Outlined

The request

The AI adds the section and connects it to Hiveku’s form capture. Check it in the preview.

Publish, then try it

Sign-ups are saved from your published site, not from the preview inside the builder. Publish the site, or first publish it to Development to test it there: click Deploy, then Deploy on the environment you want (see Publish Your Changes).

See the sign-up arrive

In the builder, click your site’s name at the top left, then Forms. The sign-up is under Submissions. Click it to see what was sent: the email address and Marketing consent: yes. Who was told shows the team members who got an email about it.

The visitor is also added to CRM, Contacts, as a lead, with the form submission in their activity. See See Who Filled In Your Forms for more on the Forms page.

Good to know

  • Consent is recorded. When the box is ticked, Hiveku records that the person agreed to your marketing emails, so they can be included when you build an audience to email.
  • Keep the box unticked by default. The visitor should choose to get your emails.
  • Test on the published site. A sign-up in the builder’s preview is not saved.
  • Next: Create, Test and Send an Email Campaign.
