Team activity turns the work your team does in Hiveku into points: emails sent, calls answered, tasks finished, deals moved. It shows who’s been busy this week, who went quiet, and a leaderboard with badges, plus an email at the end of each week. It’s off until an owner or admin switches it on. This guide shows team activity on Locus Digital, a marketing agency that uses it. Teammates’ names and photos are hidden in the pictures.

Switch it on

1

Open Team activity

Click Settings at the bottom of the left rail, then Team activity.
2

Switch on Count team activity

Switch on Count team activity. Before anything is counted, Hiveku shows you what your team will be told and sends them a notice: what is counted, and that only the numbers are kept, never what anyone writes or says, the pages they open, or the time of day.
Count team activity, switched on, outlined: your team was told on Oct 11 (15 people) what is counted, and that team activity keeps only the numbers; What counts, and for how much: Signed in 1, An hour active in Hiveku 1, Email sent 2, Call made or answered 2; and Who sees the leaderboard, outlined, with Everyone sees the top three and the badges chosen

Counting on, and who sees the board

Changes on this page save on their own.

Choose what counts

Under What counts, and for how much, set the points for each kind of work. Being signed in earns less than doing something, and 0 means it isn’t counted. Each kind counts at most a set number of times a day, so a big email send doesn’t fill someone’s day. Leave out is for people who work mostly outside Hiveku: nothing of theirs is counted, and the board says so. Departments decides whose department total each person counts toward.

Choose who sees the leaderboard

Everyone always sees their own place and points. Under Who sees the leaderboard, choose how much the rest of the team sees:
  • Everyone sees the top three and the badges (recommended): owners and admins see the whole list.
  • Only owners and admins: everyone else sees only their own place.
  • Everyone sees the whole list: the people at the bottom are shown to their colleagues.
Showing the board to more people tells the team first.

Send the end-of-week email

Under End-of-week email, switch on Send the end-of-week email and pick the Day and Time. It has the leaderboard, the badges and who went quiet. Owners and admins get it; Add an address sends it to someone else, and your team is told who gets it.
End-of-week email: Send the end-of-week email, switched on, outlined; Day Monday and Time 8:00 am; Owners and admins, on, with their names hidden; and Also send it to, Add an address

Monday at 8 am

See the activity

Add the Team activity widget to a dashboard (see Make Your Own Dashboard and Share It). It shows one square per person per day, darker on busier days, this week’s points, and who has gone quiet. The same widget can show the leaderboard instead.
Team activity: one square per person per day, a paler square is a quieter day, 15 people counted; rows of squares from Aug 31 to this week, names hidden, with No usual pace yet and this week's points 92, 68, 48 and 31

Good to know

  • Switch it off at any time with Count team activity. Nothing more is counted.
  • Work done through AI counts for the person who asked for it, in a Hiveku chat or from VS Code, Claude or Codex.
