A payroll run adds up what you owe each person on your team for a period: hours worked at their rate, or their fixed pay. You check the amounts, lock them, and download a file your payment service or bookkeeping tool reads. Hiveku doesn’t move the money itself. This guide checks Northwind’s run for October 1 to 15 and downloads its payment file.

Open the run

Click Commerce in the left rail. In the list on the left, under Payroll, click Payroll, then the period. To start a new period, click New payroll run.

Check the amounts

Each member is listed with their hours for the period, their rate and the amount. Hourly pay comes from the time they logged; fixed pay is their set amount.
October 1-15, 2026, Draft, 4 members, total $6,153.18, with Finalize to export, outlined, Recalculate and Delete; and the members: Ana Ruiz 58:30 hours at $21.50/h, $1257.75; Jamie Holloway, fixed, $2571.43; Marcus Webb 62:00 at $24.00/h, $1488.00; Priya Desai 44:00 at $19.00/h, $836.00

October 1-15, still a draft

While the run is a draft you can type a different amount, remove someone with the bin, or click Recalculate to bring in time logged since the run was made.

Good to know

  • Something wrong after finalizing? Click Unfinalize, give a reason, fix the amounts and finalize again. The reason is kept in the run’s notes.
  • Rates and pay types are set per person under Payroll, Members.
  • Payroll shows in your profit as an expense once it’s paid: see See Your Profit and Send Your Numbers to Your Accountant.
