The CMS lets you and your team edit lists of content, such as blog posts, products or team members, without touching code. A new site doesn’t have one yet. Setting it up takes one click. This guide sets up the CMS on a new, empty Northwind site.

Set it up

1

Open the CMS

Open your site in the builder and click the CMS icon in the row of icons above the preview.

Set up your CMS: Collections turn repeating content, blog posts, products, locations, into one template your whole team can edit without touching code. Set up with blog scaffold, outlined, and Start from a preset or design your own instead

Set up your CMS

Want something other than a blog? Click Start from a preset or design your own instead to pick a ready-made collection, such as products or team members, or make your own (see Add a New Kind of Content to Your CMS).

What you get

A few seconds later, Blog Posts is listed under Collections, with its first entry, Hello, World, as a draft.

The example post is there to show the shape of a post: write your own over it, or delete it.

Show the posts on your site

The yellow note says no page shows the list yet. Click Draft a request in chat, or ask the builder AI yourself, for a blog page, such as “add a blog page that lists the published posts, newest first”. Then publish your changes.

Good to know

  • Write and publish posts: see Write and Publish a Blog Post.
  • Edit any collection’s entries: see Edit Your Content in the CMS.
  • Site already has content files? If your site’s code already keeps posts or other content in files, the button reads Enable CMS for this site instead: your files stay where they are and become collections you can edit.
