The site map shows every page of your site as a card, joined to the page above it. At a glance you see what you have, how visitors move between pages, and which pages need work before they go live. This guide reads the site map of Northwind’s Pearl District site and starts a new page on it.

Open the site map

Open your site in the builder and click the SEO icon (the magnifier) in the row of icons above the preview. Pages opens first, with a count of your pages.
The site map: Pages 19, Worklist 19 and Redirects; Legend and Site SEO and tools; the Home card at the top, outlined, joined to the pages below it such as Brew Guides, Pearl District Menu, Cart, Coffees, Reviews, Wholesale and Shipping; and at the bottom the zoom, Expand all, Collapse to overview and Add page, outlined

Pearl District's 19 pages

Lines join each page to the page above it, starting from Home. Teal cards such as Each coffee are templates: one page for every coffee in your CMS. Use the minus and plus at the bottom to zoom, or drag the map to move around.

The Reviews card: its address /reviews, SEO 35, Code, Not yet deployed and Orphan; and below, its parent page Home, with Page details, Edit in the editor and Open page

One page

  • SEO is the page’s score out of 100: the higher, the better its title, description and headings are set up for search engines.
  • Not yet deployed means the page isn’t on your live site yet.
  • Orphan means no other page links to it, so visitors can only reach it by its address.
  • The list at the bottom sets the page’s Parent page. The magnifier opens Page details, the pencil opens it in the editor, and the arrow opens the page.

See what needs work

Click Legend for what the colors mean, and for the issues found across your pages, with how many pages have each one, such as No H1 heading or Duplicate title.
Legend: All pages; SEO needs work (19) with Score under 50 (16) and Score 50 to 79 (3); Code, Record, Dynamic, Draft, Live on production, Changed since deploy, Not yet deployed, In sitemap.xml, Not in sitemap.xml, Orphan, Redirects here and Redirected away; and Issues, such as No structured data (19), No internal links (17), Thin content (17), No H1 heading (16), Title is long (12) and Duplicate title (12)

Plan a new page

Click Add page at the bottom. Type the Page name, pick its Parent page if it sits under another page, and check the URL slug, the end of its address. Then click Add page.
Add page: Page name Gift Cards, outlined; Parent page No parent; Page type Standard page; URL slug gift-cards, outlined, The page will be served at /gift-cards; and Cancel and Add page

A Gift Cards page, ready to add

The new card is a plan: it has no content yet. To build it, ask the builder AI, for example “build the Gift Cards page”. See Add a Page to Your Site.

Good to know

  • A planned page can’t be removed from the map yet. Add only pages you mean to build.
  • Redirects at the top lists old addresses you send to new pages: see Send an Old Page Address to a New One.
