Blog posts are written in Marketing > Content. You write the post in one editor, Hiveku checks it before it goes out, and Publish puts it on your site’s blog in one step. In this example we publish a new Northwind origin story, “Huila, Colombia: Sweetness from the Southern Andes”.

Start a new post

1

Open Marketing > Content

In the left rail, click Marketing, then Content. The Posts tab lists your posts with a picture, their status and the date.

If your account has more than one website, pick yours in the site menu above the list, so you only see that site’s posts.
2

Click New post and choose Site Content

Click New post. Hiveku asks What kind of content is this? Choose Site Content: a blog post or anything else that lives in your website’s CMS and publishes to the live site.

3

Pick your website

Choose the website the post belongs to. Here, Northwind Coffee Roasters.

4

Pick the collection and click Create

Choose the CMS collection your blog uses. Northwind’s is Origin Stories. The Author is filled in with your account’s default author; you can change it later. Click Create.

Write the post

The post editor opens. Along the top are the title and the Content, SEO and Settings tabs. On the right, the Pre-publish check scores the post and lists what to fix.

1

Add a title and the text

Click Untitled Content at the top and type your title. Write the post in the Content box; the toolbar above it has headings, lists, links and more. Below the text, add a short Excerpt: the summary shown on your blog page and in search results.
2

Add a featured image

Under Featured image, click Library. You can pick from your own pictures (My Assets and Brand), search Stock Photos, or create one with AI Create. Click a picture, then Insert Media.

Then describe the picture in Alt text (for example, “Green hillsides of coffee farms in the mountains of Colombia”). Screen readers read it aloud, and search engines use it too.

3

Fill in the SEO tab

Click SEO. Add a Meta title (about 50 to 60 characters) and a Meta description (about 150 to 160 characters): these are what search results show. A Target keyword tells the check which phrase you want the post found for.

4

Read the Pre-publish check

Fix the items under Fix before publishing, for example a missing alt text or an empty body. If you publish with them, Hiveku asks Publish anyway? first. Items under Worth a look are suggestions, such as a short post or no internal links.
If the check says your site’s collection has no SEO title or description field, your meta title and description are not used, and the page shows its own title. Ask the AI in the site builder to add those fields to the collection if you want separate ones.

Publish it

1

Click Publish

Click Publish at the top right. This saves the post to your site and starts publishing your live site in the same step, so there is nothing else to deploy. The badge changes to Published and the button to Republish.

A few minutes later the post is on your site. On Northwind it is the newest story on the blog page:

Good to know

  • Not ready yet? Leave the post as a draft (it stays in your content library), use Schedule in the panel on the right to publish it later, or Send to review to mark it In review until a teammate approves it.
  • Changing a post later. Open it from Marketing > Content, edit, and click Publish changes. Edit it here, not in the CMS: changes made in the CMS are not copied to the post, and the next publish from Marketing can replace them.
  • More ways to post. See Post a Blog.
