When someone shares a page of your site on Facebook, LinkedIn, X or in a text message, a card appears with a picture, a title and a short text. Without a picture of your own, the card is plain or shows whatever the app finds. You can choose each of them for every page. This guide gives the home page of Northwind’s Pearl District site a picture of a Northwind cup.

See which pages have no picture

In the builder, click SEO in the row of icons above the preview, then the magnifying glass on a page’s box (or double-click the box). The page’s panel opens with its On-page audit. No social share image means the page has no picture for sharing.

Good to know

  • Each page has its own. Repeat for the pages people share most, such as your menu or a blog post.
  • On X, the card uses the same picture. Twitter Card sets whether it shows large or small, and can give X its own title and text.
  • Already shared? Facebook and LinkedIn remember a card for a while. Their sharing debugger pages fetch the new one.
