Some problems on a page are easy to miss: a picture with no description for screen readers, a form field with no label, text that is hard to read against its background. The builder’s Audit checks the page you are looking at and lists what it finds, so you can fix each one. This guide audits the home page of Northwind’s website.

Run the audit

1

Open the page in the builder

Open your website and click Visual Edit above the preview. Pick the page to check in the page menu above the preview: the audit checks the page the preview shows.
2

Click Audit

Click the shield, Audit, in the column of tools on the left. The list groups what it found by kind of problem, with a count for each. Click a group’s name to fold it or open it.

Each finding names the element and what is wrong. For low contrast it gives the contrast it measured and what it needs: text the size of a paragraph needs 4.5:1, and large text 3:1.

Go to a problem and fix it

Click a finding. The builder selects that element in the preview and opens its settings, so you can change it right there. Here, the Shop Whole Beans button’s white text on orange measures 3.87:1, so a darker orange would fix it. For a picture without alt text, its settings open on the Alt text box.

You can also ask the AI in the chat to fix it, for example “Make the Shop Whole Beans button text easier to read”. When you have made a change, click the circular arrows at the top of the Audit panel to run the checks again.

What it checks

The audit looks for pictures without alt text, links and buttons without a name, repeated element IDs, headings out of order, form fields without a label, missing page details such as the title, and low text contrast. At the bottom, the panel says how many text elements it couldn’t check for contrast because they sit on a picture or a gradient.
