Some of your site’s content lives in the CMS (content management system) instead of in the page itself: blog posts, FAQ answers, team members and similar lists. You edit it in a simple form, and it reaches your live site the next time you publish. In this example we add a new question to the Northwind FAQ page (the page we made in Add a New Page).

Open the CMS

1

Click the CMS icon

Open your site in the builder. In the row of icons above the preview, click CMS (the icon that looks like books on a shelf).

2

Pick a collection

The CMS opens full width. On the left is a list of your collections, one for each kind of content. Northwind has Origin Stories (its blog posts) and Frequently Asked Questions. Click the one you want to change.

Open an entry

Each collection lists its entries. Use the search box or the All, Draft, Published, Scheduled and Archived filters to find one, then click it. The Northwind FAQ is a single entry named general.

Make the change

1

Edit the fields

The entry opens as a form. Change any field by clicking into it and typing. Lists of items, like the FAQ’s questions, have an Add item button at the bottom.

Two seconds after you stop typing, Hiveku saves your edits as a draft. The panel on the right shows Draft saved with the time.
2

Click Save

Click Save at the top of the form. If the panel on the right still shows Publish draft, click it and confirm.

Check the status

The entry is now Published in the CMS. The panel on the right explains what that means: Live on your site after the next deploy.

Saved, and waiting for the next publish

Put it on your live site

Under Deploy state, the panel says Published changes aren’t live yet. Click Deploy there. The builder goes back to the preview and opens the Deploy menu, where you click Deploy on the Production row, the same as in Publish Your Changes.

A few minutes later, the new question is on the live site:

Publishing needs permission to publish the site. Owners, admins, managers, members and the Marketing role have it unless your account changed that. Without it, the panel says so instead of showing the Deploy button; ask someone who can publish to do it for you.

Go back to an earlier version of an entry

Every save is kept. In the panel on the right, click Version history to see each version, who saved it and when. Pick one and click Restore this version to bring it back; this adds a new version on top, so nothing is lost. Then publish as above.
