When a new site should look and work like one you already have, such as a second location, copy it instead of starting over. The copy has the same pages, content, media and code, and it changes nothing on the original. This guide copies Northwind’s Pearl District café site.

Copy the site

1

Open the site's menu

Click Websites in the left rail. Point to the site’s card and click the three dots at its top right.
2

Click Clone Project

The copy starts right away, with no question first. It takes a few seconds.

Clone Project, in the site's menu

The copy opens in the builder, named after the original with (Copy) at the end, and its preview starts up in under a minute.

What the copy has

  • The same site: every page and file, its content and blog posts, its navigation and its custom code.
  • Its own media: the pictures and files are copied too, so deleting or changing one in the copy never touches the original.
  • A fresh start for the rest: a new chat, and its own empty task board in PM Projects. Custom domains and hosting stay with the original.
The copy is a draft. Nothing is live until you publish it.
