Before a site goes live, your client usually has notes: a line to change, a photo to swap, something that looks off on a phone. Instead of a long email, send them a review link. They click on the spot they mean and type the note, without signing up, and each note reaches you pinned to that spot. This guide shares Northwind’s Pearl District site for review, leaves one note as a test client, and reads and resolves it.
1

Open Review

Click Websites in the left rail. On the site’s card, click the ⋮ at the top right, then Review.

Switch on the public link and copy it

Click the share icon at the top right, then switch on Public access. Copy the link with the button next to it, and send it to your client.

The review link

Anyone with the link can look at every branch of the site and leave notes. When the review is over, switch Public access off: the link then says it is unavailable. The circular arrow makes a new link and stops the old one working.

What your client does

The link opens the site in a review window, with no sign-in. Your client clicks Annotate at the top right, then clicks the spot on the page the note is about. A form opens: they type their name (their email is optional), pick what kind of note it is (such as Content or Bug), write the note, and click Add Annotation.

A note from the client

A numbered pin marks the spot, and the note is listed on the right.

Read and resolve the notes

Open Review again. Each note is listed with its pin; click one to open it. It shows who left it, their email and the page.

Who left the note

Every note also becomes a task in the site’s project, shown under Linked task, and Assigned to gives it to a teammate. When it’s done, click Resolve.

The note, its task, and Resolve

Resolved notes move to Resolved at the top of the list. Reopen brings one back, and the trash icon deletes a note and its task.

Good to know

  • Reply to a note. Type in Add a comment under the note. Comments and assignments stay in step with the task.
  • Sort the notes. Filter the list by Open or Resolved, by kind, or by Desktop, Tablet or Mobile.
  • Hear about new notes. The bell icon in the review toolbar sets who gets an email or a Slack message when a note arrives.
  • What can’t be reviewed here. Chat, booking and payment boxes, and pages that need a sign-in, may not load fully in the review window. Check those on the site itself.
