A site’s name is how you and your team find it in Hiveku. You can change it at any time. When you no longer need a site, such as a test copy, you can delete it. This guide renames the copy made in Copy a Site to Start a New One and then deletes it. Northwind’s other sites are not touched.

Rename a site

1

Open its settings

Open the website, click its name at the top of the page, then Settings.
2

Change the name

Under Project Information, click Edit, type the new Project Name, and click Save Changes.
Project Information with Project Name Northwind Alberta Street, outlined, Description (Optional), and the Save Changes button, outlined

Northwind Alberta Street

The new name shows everywhere in Hiveku at once. The site’s Hiveku address keeps the name it was made with: it can’t be changed. To give the site an address of your own, connect your domain.

Delete a site

Deleting a site removes its pages, files, content, published versions and its task board, and it can’t be undone. Download a backup first if you might want anything back: Download a Backup of Your Whole Site.
1

Click Delete Project

On the same Settings page, scroll to the end and click Delete Project.
2

Type the name to confirm

Type the site’s name exactly as shown and click Delete Permanently.
Delete Project? This will permanently delete Northwind Alberta Street, with the note that the project leaves your list right away, the name typed to confirm, outlined, and Delete Permanently, outlined

Deleting the copy

The site leaves your list right away and Hiveku takes you to your dashboard. Its hosting is removed in the background, so a published site can keep answering visitors for a few minutes.

Good to know

  • Check which site you’re on. The confirm box names the site. Read it before you type.
